What a surprise the morning sun can bring! As sunlight bursts through the woodland greenery and flowers it creates a "Morning Serendipity."
INSIDER INSIGHTS: This original watercolor began life as a plein air painting. The sun was still low as I set up my easel by the pond. I bent down to capture the bursts of light coming through the colorful grasses, weeds, and flowers. I painted quickly and loosely using Daniel Smith colors of Quinacridone Gold, Pyrrol Scarlet, and lots of Undersea Green. I kept the Cobalt Blue sky light and added some mixes of colors and enhancements of Hansa Yellow Medium. In the studio, after the painting was dry, I used a stencil with various size circles and strategically "erased" color from the painting using various "secret" techniques.
Today the viewer is treated to a dazzling display of light and color in this square original watercolor sized to 10.5 x 10.5" and available for $200 unmatted and unframed.
It is now entered in an on-line show, so please contact the artist for further information and current availability. [email protected]
