INSIDER INSIGHTS: I love Undersea Green. I don't think I've ever actually used it for an undersea painting, but I think it's great for trees! The Daniel Smith website describes it this way: "An artist’s favorite, this exciting medium to high staining green blends French Ultramarine with Quinacridone Gold. The inorganic, sedimentary French Ultramarine settles and granulates while the organic, transparent Quinacridone Gold floats into a golden halo." Closely examine the textured paper here and you can see the separation of the two colors. This scene also uses Holbein's Verditer Blue for the sky. It too is a combination of two watercolors, cobalt aluminate and titanium dioxide. The titanium white gives skies a softer, almost cloudy look. It is my current favorite for skies.
This is a true Colorado scene. The composition provides the viewer an entry point through the open gate, and your imagination can take you miles deep into this sunny Colorado summer scene.
This painting is offered unmatted and unframed. Contact the artist at [email protected] for more information.
